I have been using or kiln firing glass for a few decades. I use a 90 COE glass called Bullseye. It is hard and vibrant in color. Most of the glass I use is coated in Dichroic. Dichroic Glass is coated with hundreds of layers of micro minerals and gemstones. Every time the glass is fired another layer of minerals burn off and the color changes. The first recorded use of dichroic glass was in the space Race . The Astronauts visors were covered in a gold coating to block the rays of the Sun. This artisan glass jewelry has been etched and fired to create a one of a kind accessory. This year I have spent time creating my own bales etc., keeping the feel rustic and unique. Each piece of glass spends about 10 hours in the kiln as the glass needs to move slowly through some phases. I look forward to sharing my craft with you.
